Are you interested in learning self defense and gaining more confidence?  Join the self-defense and empowerment club!  We will begin with self-defense basics for girls.  In the future, college mentors will be joining our meetings to discuss safety, health, communication, and any other issues relevant to you! 

Stop by room 218 this week to pick up permission slips to participate.

Congratulations to our Senior Running Mustang, Jackson Elliott for qualifying for the Sweepstakes Race (among the fastest runners in the country) at the Woodbridge Invitational (the most prestigious meet in the country) this coming Saturday!

Our Girls and Boys Varsity Cross Country teams will be competing, so wish them Luck!

Would you like to earn money tutoring students outside of school hours?  Damonte Ranch has a list of approved math peer tutors that families can use to hire students.  If you are a student who is strong in math and would like to be on the list of paid math peer tutors, then please contact Mrs. Ault in room 122.  Tutors are typically paid between $15 and $20 per hour, depending on the experience and mathematics level of the student.  Student math grades will be examined before a student can be added to the list.

Attention freshman– it’s that time of year to run for freshman class president, vice president, secretary or treasurer.  IF you are interested in being a leader for your class- help plan dances and assemblies and other fun activities, pick up a candidate packet in either the front office or room 226.  Candidate packets will be available starting Monday, September 11th and are due to room 226 by Wednesday, September 20th.  IF you have any questions, please see Mrs. Norton.  

Hola amigos: Hispanic Club will be starting up this week with our first meeting in Mrs. Gutiérrez’s room, 232, during lunch on Thursday September 14.  If you are interested in participating in some fun and social activities, come and check us out! Bring your lunch and of course a new friend. ¡Hasta pronto! (9/11/23 through 9/14/23) 

Attention Class of 2024

Senior shirt order forms are available in the Front Office, the Career Center, and from the Bookkeeper.  All forms and money are due back to the Bookkeeper by Friday, September 15th.  

ATTENTION Seniors:  If you took your senior pictures during the summer and paid for portraits, please come and visit the Career Center to pick them up.

Do you love to dance?  Well, the Hip-Hop Club is for you!  It will be in Room 107 on Mondays & Fridays at lunch.  Our first meeting is TODAY.

Have you ever thought about a career in the Construction industry?  Would you like to run big pieces of machinery on a job site?  Maybe you should sign up with Coach Cabada in the Career Center to join us on the Construction Career Day field trip.  It is Friday, October 13th from 10 to 2.  Bus and lunch provided.   (Run through September 16.)

Attention MUSTANGS!  Our Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, September 23rd ; 7:30-10:00 PM in Damonte’s gym.  If you are planning on bringing a non-Damonte student to the dance, guests need to be approved by the Corral before you buy a ticket for them.  Guest pass forms are available in the Corral, one guest per student, forms are due Wednesday, September 19th.  Students need a guest pass to buy a ticket.   NEW THIS YEAR- Tickets for guest pass holders will not be sold at the door.

Speaking of the homecoming dance– We will be selling tickets to the dance at lunch only at the end of the counselor hallway starting on Monday, September 18th.  They will cost $10 each CASH ONLY.  It will cost $20 at the door.  Reminder that YOU CANNOT BUY tickets for a guest at the door!   BOOKKEEPER WILL NOT BE SELLING TICKETS!

Spring Break is just around the corner and so is your adventure of a lifetime! Kiss the Blarney Stone for luck on the Emerald Island, enjoy nature’s beauty as we hike through the National Forrest of Wales, visit the homes of inventor Alexander Grahm Bell & author Robert Louis Stevenson as well as the castles of Scotland, and then travel by train to the city of London where you will see Buckingham palace, Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus, the London Eye, and so much more. Don’t miss the wonders of the British Isles. Limited spots are available, prices subject to change as we get closer to departure, so lock in now at current rates.
