Don’t miss the fantastic show from PAC Dance this week!

The PAC Dance Fall Showcase will be Wednesday and Thursday, December 4th and 5th at 7 p.m. in the theater.  This is an all student-choreographed show so come out and see some spectacular dancing! 

Tickets are $10 each and can be bought online at cur8.com or at the door.  Doors open at 6:30 and the performance is open seating.  Get there early for a good seat and a great time!

Students, if you are interested in playing softball this year there will be an informational meeting on Monday, December 9th at lunch in room 120.  We will introduce coaches, the program and announce our open workouts starting in January.

Attention all NHS members, there will be a meeting TODAY, Wednesday, December 4th during lunch in room W154. The meeting will start at 11, a couple minutes after the bell rings so juniors and seniors coming from off campus please try to be prompt. Thank you and we hope to see you all there!”

The JROTC canned food drive runs through the end of this week.  Please bring in your non-perishable foods and help us give back to our homeless vets by giving to the JROTC food drive!

Rook takes Rook in the final round of the DRHS Fall Chess Tournament.  The End Game was the determining factor and the DRHS Chess club would like to announce Ty Padilla as this Fall’s 2024 Chess Champion!!….Thank you to all the participants for making this a fun and spirited event.

Help our Junior Cadet students from Washoe County School District raise funds for an unforgettable trip to Washington, DC during Police Week.  This experience will allow nine students from six high schools to honor fallen officers, learn about service, and participate in historic events like the Annual Candlelight Vigil.  We will be selling raffle tickets, 1 for $25 and 5 for $100.  Head over to South 40 on South Meadows Parkway on November 23rd to participate in a raffle for the grand prize, a brand new $2,500 Gas Gas Moto 1 Electric Bike.

NHS is having a clothing and item drive for Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission through today, November 15th.  You can donate winter apparel, shoes, shirts, pants, pajamas, personal hygiene items and even toys.  These items can be dropped off on the tables located in the main hallway.  For more information refer to flyers posted around the school or Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission’s website.  Join our cause and help us, help others.  Your donation matters.

Purchase a delicious travel cup of hot cocoa in the student store during lunch for $2. Add marshmallows, whipped cream, and a candy cane for only $1 more.  All funds will be used to provide holiday gifts for a local family.

Grandma Thiede’s Mac and Cheese with a Green Side Salad is back.  With a $4 donation, you can have a delicious hand made Mac and Cheese (includes bacon pieces) and salad lunch.  Served the beginning of lunch TODAY out of room 117 (foods lab).  Once again, Grandma Thiede’s mac and cheese and side salad lunch this TODAY at the beginning of lunch $4 donation to Culinary program.  If you miss it this week, we will be serving again next Thursday.

This fall we have TWO productions running opposite each other!  Starting today and running two weekends, you’ll have opportunities to see Little Women and David Copperfield.  Both are plays adapted from books, with terrific period costumes.  They are about young people finding their identity through becoming writers.  Little Women is set during the American Civil War, while David Copperfield is set in England during the first part of the 19th Century.  Tickets are available in advance through CUR8.com or in person at the box office before performances.  Hope to see you there for both plays!

WINTER SPORTS are coming!!!
